Stream Reader Support

Help, FAQs, and how to get in touch.

Getting started

Stream Reader flows text horizontally across a single line at a pace you control. To begin: open the app, tap Paste to load text from your clipboard, then tap the play button to start streaming.

You can also send text to Stream Reader from Safari or any app that supports the iOS Share Sheet — just tap the Share icon and choose Stream Reader.

Frequently asked questions

How does streaming text work?

Instead of reading static text on a page, text flows continuously from right to left in a single line. This prevents re-reading loops and keeps your attention moving forward. You control the speed.

What is Anchor Reading?

Anchor Reading bolds the beginning of each word, creating visual anchors that help your eyes move through text more efficiently. It can help reduce mind-wandering and improve focus. You can turn it on or off in the Style drawer.

How much text can I paste into the text area?

Up to 80,000 characters (roughly 12,000–15,000 words, or about 40–50 pages). A warning will appear when you're getting close to the limit.

Can I edit text in the text area?

On iPhone and iPad, the text area is read-only so the keyboard doesn't pop up while you're reading. To swap in new text, copy it from anywhere, then tap the Paste pill in the bottom-right of the text area — it pastes from your clipboard and shows a 5-second Undo toast in case you change your mind.

How many items can I save to my library?

Your library can hold many saved items. They're stored on your device, so a very large library may eventually be limited by your device's available storage.

How do I import text from Safari or other apps?

Tap the Share button in Safari (or any app with text), then select Stream Reader from the share sheet. The text will be added to your library automatically.

Can I import PDFs?

Yes — share a PDF to Stream Reader from the share sheet (or open one on Mac). You can share up to 10 PDFs at a time, and the text is added to your library. Scanned or image-only PDFs and password-protected PDFs can't be imported.

What does WPM stand for?

Words Per Minute — a measure of reading speed. The WPM setting controls how fast the text streams across the screen.

Is my data private?

Yes. All your data — saved items, settings, and reading progress — is stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to a server or the cloud. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
